How to Play
You can play on your own or in a group! Two ways to play!
Study Strategies Option
1. Shuffle and place the Courses, Study Strategies, and Time cards face down in separate piles
2. Flip over the top card from each of the three piles
3. Come up with a way to use the Study Strategy in the allotted Time for the Course and topic
4. Advanced play: Add the Barriers card pile and figure out how to overcome this barrier to studying
Success Skills Option
1. Shuffle and place the Success Skills cards face down
2. Flip over the top card and discuss how you are using this Success Skill effectively (or not)
More Possible Alternative Ways to Play
Use in a Specific Course: Don’t use the Courses card and instead have students use the Time, Study Strategies, Barriers, and Success Skills cards only for your specific course.
Skills Ranking: Have students flip over all of the Success Skills cards and have them rank them from the skills that they are best at to those that they are least confident in. Then have a discussion about how they can improve those skills and what campus resources are available to help them improve in these areas.
Study Strategies Sorting: Have students flip over all of the Study Strategy cards and place them into “have used before” and “never used” piles. Then facilitate a discussion about how they can try using some in the “never used before” pile in their courses and how they can be helpful.
